The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I loved the author’s book The Wedding Date which I read earlier this year so I was very excited to read The Proposal. This is the story of Nik and Carlos. Nik is a very independent woman and thoughts of marriage are furthest from her mind. She unexpectantly meets Carlos who is initially of the same opinion about marriage when they first begin their relationship. There are also some fun characters in the book as well as a return of much loved characters from The Wedding Date. While I enjoyed this book it didn’t feel as swoon worthy as The Wedding Date. The main characters here just didn’t seem to have the same chemistry and banter between them. There was diversity in this book as in her other book which was great to see. Again, although I enjoyed the book it just didn’t feel as dynamic as her other book. I will defintely read more from this author and hope to again find the magic missing from this one.
