The Bride Test (The Kiss Quotient, #2)The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Thank you PenguinRandom House Canada for this free review copy. I LOVED this author’s first book and was looking forward to this one. While I enjoyed this book I didn’t have the same feeling for it as The Kiss Quotient. Khai is a successful businessman and is happy living his life. His mother meanwhile is on a mission to find Khai a wife. This is complicated by the fact that Khai has autism so he has sensory issues and trouble acknowledging and communicating his feelings among other things. The author herself has Aspergers and is wonderful at conveying the thoughts and feelings of people on the spectrum. That is true in this book too. Khai is such an interesting character and seeing the world from his point of view is very engaging. Meanwhile, Khai’s mother visits Viet Nam and finds a girl she thinks will be a perfect wife for him. Esme agrees to come to America and try to get Khai to fall for her. I found the story interesting and I enjoyed it but I just felt something was missing. I will definitely read more from this author. She is working on Quan’s book now and I can’t wait to read it.
