Wherever She Goes by Kelley Armstrong
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Thank you to Penguin Random House for my free review copy. I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t wait to see how it would all end up. What do you do when you see a little boy being kidnapped but no one believes you? This is the dilemma Aubrey faces. Aubrey’s credibility is a little shaky as she is recently separated, living in a rundown apartment, and she has an interesting past. Meanwhile her estranged husband lives in their family home with their young daughter. As Aubrey perseveres with her quest to find the missing boy she soon realizes the police aren’t in a hurry to help her. As she takes matters into her own hands she eventually has to face the reasons that her marriage isn’t working out. Once she enlists her husband’s help in the search they both see ways to be honest with each other about their marriage. I loved the fast pace of this book and I also loved Aubrey and Paul. Even during the tough times of their separation they still remained respectful, reasonable, and kind to each other. Most books have couples at war with each other during a divorce or separation and I found this book so refreshing. Some of Aubrey’s exploits are a bit incredulous but I was engaged with this book and these characters from start to finish. A great suspense read.
